MicroStep is the Leader in the Bevel Cutting Process

MicroStep has always prided itself in offering great solutions to its customers and for the last 15 years’ MicroStep has become the leader in Bevel Cutting Technology.

What is Bevel Cutting?

Bevel cutting is the process of cutting a part with an edge that is not at an angle of 90 degrees at the top of the part. This increases the surface size of the edge allowing for a stronger and more secure weld.

Our MicroStep team in Slovakia has been working on this technology for a long time and has developed it to such an extent that we are now able to offer various solutions when it comes to bevel cutting.

There are 3 solutions for Bevel Cutting Technology that MicroStep has come up with

1. Weld preparation for “K“, “Y” and “V” cuts on any shape and up to a thickness of 150mm.

This means that with this technology you are able to cut all of these in one go and at the same time.

2. Additional bevel cutting solution after cutting of parts up to a thickness of 200mm.

This means that you can cut weld preps into an already cut profile. This is done via a laser scanner and a camera that scans the cut profile and identifies whether this profile corresponds with the drawing in the Cam Software.

3. Counter sink cutting for bolts in wear-plate application.

Up to now counter sink for bolts in wear-plate applications had to be first heated then drilled and thereafter counter drilled.
Now, we have revolutionised the process by being able to cut this feature into the steel by means of CNC Laser-, Plasma-, or a Water-jet Cutting Process.
This state of the art new application has drastically reduced the cost to produce wear plates to the mining industry.
Three of our customers are already using this with great success in the market place.
