Automation is the key factor in moving your company into the next Industrial Revolution, Industry 4.0
DRM is a heavy duty CNC Cutting Machine designed for a wide range of dome, sheet and pipe applications. Its robust gantry allows a vibration-free operation of heavy equipment such an automatic oxyfuel triple torches, a 120° rotator with a 1.5 m stroke of Z-axis for cutting of 3D shapes and other custom equipment. Along with the full range of sheet and pipe cutting possibilities, DRM offers special applications on domes like trimming, separation cuts, cutting of diverse openings, weld edge preparation and cutting of domes placed upside down.
A 3D scanner in combination with mSCAN software allows to adjust the cutting plans according to measured true surfaces of domes and thus to achieve excellent spatial precision in 3D cutting.
Getting a CNC Machine into your business is the first major step.
CNC is the answer to staying ahead in the fiercely competitive business of manufacturing. CNC streamlines your manufacturing process and has several advantages such as:
There have been previous instances in the past where bevel torches have not been able to return to the correct or original position after a knock has occurred. This always leads to a very lengthy process of re-adjusting the setting after an accidental change of the position of the rotator.
1. Better Efficiency
One reason for using CNC machining for production is efficiency. Since computers are used to control machines, it means that all major operations of production can be automated to increase speed and quality of manufacturing. This in turn is not possible with manual labour.
CNC machines do not have to be switched off, unless maintenance is needed, meaning that the production can go on without any break. Human beings get tired and require rest which means that production must halt. Machines don’t slow down and do not need a break, thus the process of production is streamlined. Such efficiency can never be achieved through a manual process.
2. Accuracy
Another reason CNC machining is beneficial for manufacturing is its accuracy. CNC machines are programmable and each and every detail of the production process can be fed into the machine. By using CNC machines, identical parts can be made with the highest accuracy levels. Programming the specification and designs into the machine leaves no room for mistakes or errors.
Reducing errors from the manufacturing process eliminates unnecessary waste. CNC machines can manufacture ideal parts to meet requirements of clients. High accuracy level also makes it hard for others to duplicate and steal the design of products. CNC machines allow you to produce products which otherwise may be impossible to produce through manual processes.
3. Fabrication
For fabrication, CNC machines are very important. Several operations are involved in fabrication such as welding sheets of metal, shearing, punching holes and flame cutting which can be done safely by using CNC machines, as well as fiberlaser, waterjet and plasma cutting. Large machines can be fabricated through CNC according to any desired specification. CNC machines are re-programmable which makes them an ideal choice for fabrication. CNC machining is absolutely essential for manufacturing and it is important that the machine keeps running otherwise major loss would be suffered.
CNC is essential to keep your company competitive, not only in South Africa, but globally.
We can help you work out the costs vs your output for owning one of our machines and in most cases it will pay you to own a cnc cutting machine, as your production will increase and you will need less manual labour. This also means that further down the manufacturing line, you are actually creating more jobs, because we are manufacturing locally and not outsourcing from overseas.
We are also highly involved in setting up your automation processes.
